Bangladesh Reformation Organization
BRO is a collective of enthusiasts, professionals and people from all walks of life, who has come together with a unified purpose to try to do their individual best to help grow our country to the next version.
In the wake of the devastating events of July, most of us have realized the need to build and foster an open community where we leave our differences in the doorstep and join together as one to put all of our strengths, weaknesses, knowledge and difference to the greater good.
One of the major part of BRO's activities include Research into current issues in Bangladesh and finding out long term sustainable solutions to it, We have open invitations to any researcher to join us and present their funding to the larger community for the greater good.
Another key work for BRO is the propagation of awareness campaigns which aim to improve the general population's awareness of how things can be improved so as to promote growth and individual learning.
We at BRO believe in change coming from the individual and we are working tirelessly to change every individual one step at a time.
A major portion of BRO's community members are technologists and tech enthusiasts. We have founders, professionals, students and enthusiasts all working towards their own vision of tech enabled services and governance.
Together we plan on building BRO as the largest hub of open-source tech solutions for Bangladesh built by the Bangladeshi people.
With our community of Bangladeshi techies, we plan on building up the largest open-source community this side of the world and build tools made in Bangladesh, for Bangladesh with Bangladeshis. We will adopt an open-source model as we believe that knowledge only increases if it is shared.
True to our motto of inclusivity, we will make the softwares we build open for all and inclusive to all contributors.
We at BRO are very concerned with what is happening with the traffic situation in Bangladesh and especially in and around Dhaka. As a result, we have taken it upon ourselves to work towards a sustainable solution to Dhaka's traffic problem and find out the root cause of the traffic situation in Dhaka. We have identified key stakeholders in the traffic equation and are working in our capacity to bring a better solution to Dhaka's traffic issues and then scale it up to the rest of the country.
The July Revolution exposed the most critical problem with our internet infrastructure and has our tech community in BRO thinking of modern, revolutionary ways to defend against any future incidents where internet can be disrupted at will.
As one of the most critical infrastructure tools of communication, keeping the internet alive and well is a key step in ensuring accountability and transparency and as such, BRO is on the job.
Everyone wants to be seen, heard and acknowledged. It is one of the major demands in the population in the recent days. It is also the premise of many citizen led organizations popping up in the wake of the birth of Bangladesh 2.0. As a community based initiative, BRO is also focused on providing such a platform to anyone and is working towards an inclusive, practical and information packed platform for sharing knowledge to everyone.
At the heart of our movement is the promise of inclusivity so we welcome everyone to come and share your thoughts and opinions with us and in the process, make the country a better place to live.
